Pop-up Field Trip: Indiangrass Hills

June 22 @ 7:30 am - 12:00 pm CDT

Saturday, June 22, 7:30 a.m. Indiangrass Hills in Iowa County for breeding grassland birds. Leader Mark Madsen will guide us through this 640-acre restored prairie. Expect to see Henslow’s Sparrow, Grasshopper Sparrow, Sedge Wren, Orchard Oriole, Bobolink, and more. There will be extensive walking on mowed grass paths which may be wet. 7:30- Carpool with Linda Quinn from Kohl’s parking lot, 2795 Commerce Dr,  Coralville

8:00 -Meet in route at Kum & Go , 2177 M Ave, Williamsburg.  Follow cars to trip location.

8:15-  Parking lot of Indiangrass Hills, 4549 I Ave, Williamsburg

Directions from Kum & Go: Head south on M Ave to F46 (240th St) and turn right (West).  This becomes a gravel road very soon.  Stay on 240th St until J Ave where you turn left (South)   Take the next right (West) on 250th St. Follow 250th St through a sharp turn to the L at which point it becomes I Ave. The pole barn is on the right at the top of the second hill. 2549 I Ave.
